Zuchtstätte vom Durbuscher Forst

How we got our "whites" and how it all began.

That was more than 25 years ago.

Before our first white man moved in with us in September 1994, we informed ourselves about newspaper advertisements as well as club and breeder addresses about the white shepherds. Internet didn't exist for us yet ... ;-)

In September 1994 the time had come

"Askan von den Gelbach Höhen"

a beautiful stick-haired male moved in with us.

At that time, the coat (stick hair) was very popular for us.

Five months later in February 1995, the breeder of our Askan broke up his breeding and sold the brother of our male dog. We take the opportunity to bring

Adonis (Teddy) von den Gelbachhöhen to us.

In the following years, the two were very successful many exhibitions

and were led by us in dog sports.

Both passed the service dog test several times and were stud dogs in our club.

We have been very active in our club from the start.

More on that later....

After careful consideration, we came to the decision to breed, that was in 1996. So we needed a name for our kennel and a great breeding female.

Since we were still living in the Rheinland (Nordrhein Westfalen) at that time,

it was due close to choosing a kennel name that was location-based.

We decided on the name:

"Kennel from the Durbuscher Forst"

"Durbusch" because of the place where we lived and

"Forst" because of the nearby Königsforst !!

We successfully passed the breeder's test and the breeding facility acceptance test. Now we were looking for a suitable breeding female.

With the help and mediation of Manu Bortel, we got ours :

" Afra- Princess vom AC Nordlicht "

a really great stick hair bitch, as our 1st breeding female.

Thank you again Manu for your help

Our 1st litter fell on November 7th, 1997 Parents were:

Afra-Princess v. AC Nordlicht and Einstein Tyson v. Sutumer Grund

5 males and 4 females were born.

This was the basis of our breeding!

From this litter we kept one female and one male.

"Aika-Princess vom Durbuscher Forst" and

"Apoll Prinz vom Durbuscher Forst"

Both dogs went to our kennel.

!! A new chapter in our life !!

In December 1999 we moved from the Rheinland  to Niedersachsen Ostfriesland district Leer where we still live today.

Our "Apoll" developed into a wonderful stud dog

with over 150 offspring.

He was very successful on many shows !!

But the peak of his show career was in September 2000 in the Dutch Exloo. From over 200 registered White Shepherds was "Apoll"

for the first time

by 2 FCI judges (Fred Lanting USA and Anton Es Slovenia) took first place.

He got the title:

!!!! Open class male 1st place !!!!

!!!! Best long pole male !!!!

!!!! Best long pole of the day !!!!

!!!! BOB Best of Breed !!!

!!!! BEST IN SHOW !!!!

The whole thing was crowned with a photo shoot

with a well-known Dutch photographer.
